Multimedia Software Engineer - - Egham, Surrey/Bristol

The successful candidate will be working within a small R&D team. They will be responsible for implementing embedded multimedia applications under Linux, on an ARM core. This may include developing microcode for 3DLABS proprietary media processor array.


QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

  • Excellent current 'C' and ‘C++’ programming
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Experience developing on embedded systems
  • Experience of developing in assembler for 32bit processors
  • A background in developing multimedia algorithms and applications
  • Experience of implementing image processing algorithms in, for instance, a device driver or imaging library
  • Experience of implementing parallel processing algorithms
  • Experience of developing under Linux

 

Embedded Software Engineers - - Egham, Surrey/Bristol

The successful candidate will be working within a small R&D team. They will be responsible for implementing embedded libraries under Linux, on an ARM core, including developing microcode for 3DLABS proprietary media processor array.


QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

  • Experience of writing Microcode for VLIW processors
  • Excellent current 'C' and ‘C++’ programming
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Experience developing on embedded systems (writing device drivers, programming at the hardware level)

Also of interest:

  • A background in audio CODECs and/or algorithms for Audio processing.
  • A background in developing Video CODECs, and/or algorithms for Video capture hardware.
  • Experience of implementing image processing algorithms in, for instance, a device driver or imaging library (experience developing applications which use graphics libraries is unlikely to be relevant).
  • Experience of implementing parallel processing algorithms.
  • Experience of developing under Linux.

 

Product Marketing Engineer - - Egham, Surrey

This technical marketing role provides a great opportunity to put your technical expertise to work across a broad range of disciplines to help present 3DLABS products to customers.


DUTIES TO INCLUDE

  • Collaborate with sales, marketing and R&D on product messaging including; datasheets, website content, presentations and press releases.
  • Work with software partners as a technical liaison to ensure successful porting of 3rd party applications and demonstrations to the 3DLABS platform.
  • Drive marketing input into QA/R&D on product performance and features.
  • Competitive analysis and market research.
  • Provide sales support for customer calls, visit and tradeshows (some travel).
  • Assist in response to customer RFIs and RFQs.
  • Develop white papers and articles to articulate the competitive advantage of 3DLABS' products from a technical and business perspective.
  • Product Evangelizing.

TECHNICAL SKILLS

  • Degree level or above in electrical engineering and 5+ years of experience.
  • Understanding of digital and analogue circuits with some background in SoC.
  • Experience working with customers on design integration.
  • Knowledge of Linux, Windows CE or other embedded operating system.
  • Experience working with applications/media processors an advantage.

  • High degree of initiative
  • Willingness and ability to contribute to process improvement initiatives
